Meadow View offers planned and emergency respite care, enabling their carer(s) to have a well earned break. Our respite care is for people with a Learning Disability and/or additional needs such as physical and mental health. It can be used as a mini-holiday for the client, or as little as a couple of hours respite, to as long as required.
We understand that it’s the personal details that make a difference. For planned respite care, we take time to get to know the individual before they arrive, ensuring that their stay with us is enjoyable. All clients coming to us for respite, will have a “personal effects box” to make their stay more familiar and relaxing, thus reducing their anxiety. We will also try to ensure they have the same room for each stay where possible.
For emergency care, we do understand that this can be a very stressful time for the client, our staff will make every effort to ensure that the client has a smooth transition. The team will try to gather as much information to adapt to the client’s needs such as, preference of food, interests, etc. as soon as they arrive to make their stay as enjoyable as possible.
Client’s staying with us for respite, can participate in activities within the home and will have access to daytime activities, if desired.
